soDA is a Swiss authorship magazine for visual culture. Our primary focus is the relationship between pictures and texts. We try to break up the original relationship between the two elements, which suggests that text «informs» and pictures «illustrate». soDA assumes that beautiful pictures can be intelligent and smart texts can look good. Every issue circles around a specific subject. Texts as well as images related to that subject are brought together to create a mixture of both corresponding and contradicting points of view. In the final product, words and pictures stand together as equally contributing methods of expression. We consider the illustrational contributions as having as strong an emphasis as statements and positions towards this world and the subjects we are reflecting as the written contributions we publish.
